Washington Self-study Online Pre-licensing Education
The online courses listed below fulfill the Washington State pre-licensing education (PLE) requirement. If you want a resident license you must complete 20 hours of PLE for each major line of authority (LOA) you wish to obtain. Major lines include: life, disability, property, casualty and personal lines (If you are getting a Property and Casualty license, you DO NOT need a Personal Lines license). The computer tracks your time used in the courses. You may download and print a Certificate of Completion upon completing 20 hours of PLE. Learn more about Washington pre-licensing requirements. The State insurance exam is administered by Pearson Vue: Call 1-800-274-8949 to schedule an exam or go to: pearsonvue.com/wa/insurance . To schedule to have your fingerprints taken at Pearson Vue, call 866-761-8069. Information about the exam and fingerprinting can be found in the Candidate Handbook.
If you decide you would like to attend a live-lecture class, you may apply 100% of your self-study payment towards the class tuition within 6 months.
